EGTS serve as a temperature monitor for turbochargers, catalytic converters, diesel particle filters and nitrogen oxide reduction systems. They are used to monitor the optimum operating point, to protect the relevant components from temperature overload and to keep them in the desired temperature range for optimal conversion rates. Ultimately, EGTS are an important component for the reduction of harmful emissions from vehicles.
Due to increased complex requirements in vehicles’ engines as well as stricter emissions standards, many vehicle manufacturers are now installing both PTC and NTC sensors in order to be able to reliably measure the exhaust gas temperatures at different points. With PTC sensors, the resistance increases with rising temperature, while with NTC, it decreases.
The range extension further boosts NTK Vehicle Electronics’ Aftermarket EGTS product portfolio, all of which are OE-quality replacements. The 50 new PTC sensors correspond to 81 OE references and cover a car parc of over 34 million vehicles in the EMEA region, and are suitable Aftermarket replacements for OE parts in over 920 vehicle applications. Further EGTS products will be launched in the next few months.
“First launched in 2014, our NTK Vehicle Electronics EGTS range has now been strengthened by the addition of 50 new OE-quality PTC sensors which will further enable us to offer our customers a broad and deep selection in the relevant product categories,” says Frank Massia, Director Marketing Aftermarket EMEA, NGK SPARK PLUG EUROPE GmbH. “This extension also provides our sales partners and workshop operators increased sales opportunities as a result of the sensors’ high car parc coverage, quality and affordability.”
The new EGTS are now available to purchase and are published in TecDoc and the Part Finder.
