Seven new double precious metal spark plugs for 4-wheel vehicles launched to boost Aftermarket car parc coverage
The new registrations offer the company’s famous reliability and build quality for this major Aftermarket part and supply a host of popular vehicles available in Europe that include cars from BMW and Mini (SILZKGR8G8S), Ford (SILNAR8D7G), Audi, Cupra, VW (SILFER8D7ES), Audi, Cupra, Skoda, Seat and VW (ILKER7B8EGS), and Mazda (ILZKAR8N6S). Reference ILKAR7Q7 has been established as a cross item for the Renault, Dacia and Nissan brands and can be fitted in recent models, including the Renault Clio 1.0-litre TCe 90, the Dacia Sandero and the Nissan Micra 1.0-litre IG-T 100. The reference MR8BP8HJS is a pioneer in the Independent Aftermarket and is being introduced for exclusive Ferrari-branded cars. The NGK spark plugs, which all possess outstanding levels of quality and performance, include the reference SILNAR8D7G, which is a superb Aftermarket part for leading Ford vehicles, such as the Puma 1.0-litre EcoBoost mHEV and the Fiesta 1.0-litre EcoBoost.
Key features of these seven double precious metal spark plugs include their excellent ignitability and first-class resistance to wear.
The new references, which all follow Niterra’s OE business, will cover a car parc of 5.4 million vehicles in 2024. This is expected to rise to 6.49 million the following year, an increase of more than 20%. Of the seven, the reference ILKAR7Q7 alone is expected to add to the car parc by 1.94 million units this year, rising to 2.35 million by 2025. Similarly, the SILNAR8D7G spark plug covers an impressive car parc of 1.55 million vehicles in 2024 that is seen growing to 1.76 million in 2025.
“We are delighted to announce these latest additions to our wide-reaching Aftermarket range for this key product. In doing so, we are emphasising our ongoing commitment to providing the very best Aftermarket products for our customers, while reaching the most popular vehicles on the road”, Frank Massia, Director Marketing Aftermarket EMEA at Niterra EMEA GmbH, said.
The spark plugs belong to NGK Ignition Parts’ Laser Iridium/Laser Platinum lineup, a set of plugs known for their excellent ignition properties and famous durability. The spark plugs have a laser-welded iridium or platinum alloy on the centre electrode and a platinum chip on the ground electrode, both of which ensure superb long-term performance.
All of the new references have been listed in the TecDoc Web Catalogue since 30 October 2024 and will also be included in the company’s next print catalogue edition.
